2016: APC SETS UP FALSE PROPAGANDA SQUAD AGAINST DICKSON....SAYS THEY'LL FAIL- BAYELSA GROUP

A pan-Ijaw socio-political organization in Bayelsa State, Ijaw Renaissance Group, has alerted the public on the desperation of the opposition led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to discredit the state government and its achievements. The organization, specifically said, the opposition has recruited a "special squad and experts in false propaganda, blackmail and falsehood to discredit the achievements of Governor Henry Seraike Dickson."The IRG, however warned the APC to stop the politically orchestrated plot in their own interest, because they won't have any impact in the reelection of the governor, who, it affirmed, had performed so well. The General Secretary of IRG, Dr. Timothy Anibiowei, in a statement issued on Thursday in Yenagoa, stressed that, since the Peoples Democratic Party lost the Presidency in the last general elections, the APC and its supporters had resorted to a myriad of media propaganda to run down the state government and its achievements, using phoney platforms as representing leaders and youths of the state. He stated that, while democracy encourages opposition, the resort to blackmail, calumny and negative propaganda to score cheap political gains would be counter-productive, because the people were now wiser to know the difference between the past and current realities in the state and as such the various media attacks against the government will not serve any positive purpose.

BUHARI'S ABILITY TO GOVERN NIGERIA IN DOUBT SAYS BALARABE MUSA,OTHERS

A coalition of fourteen opposition parties led by former governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, former presidential candidates, Olu Falae and Tunji Braitwaite under the aegis of Credible Alternative Alliance on Thursday in Abuja said, it was “too early” for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to be seeking the help of foreign countries on certain policy issues pertaining to governance.Balarabe, Falae, and Braitwaite who spoke at a press briefing on Thursday, said Buhari’s administration’s “ability and readiness to meaningfully govern Nigeria remain in doubt.”The elder statesmen said, “We note that APC appears to want to cultivate and rely too much on the support of foreign governments. This is not good for the sovereignty of our nation. CAA calls upon APC to rely less on foreign support. The party should do more to cultivate domestic support and more so from political parties in the country. You cannot govern effectively when you do so alone; it is not sustainable.“In conclusion, we wish the new administration well. However, its ability and readiness to meaningfully govern Nigeria remain in doubt. We pray, wait and hope for clarity in the days to come.
