Ekiti state governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose on Thursday in Yenagoa, says it is wrong on the part of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint his in-law as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), especially now that the nation is warming up for the conduct of election in Kogi and Bayelsa states. He also urged Governor Dickson not to entertain any fears over the forthcoming election, submitting that the governor has all it takes to defeat the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the December poll.Speaking as the chairman PDP National Electoral Panel, Chief Fayose said the party is closely monitoring the activities of the INEC, submitting that at the appropriate time its hidden agenda will be made public.

According to him, “I have complained very clearly about the choice of the INEC chairperson. Nobody can give us an INEC chairman that is his daughter or in-law. This is our Country and nobody can run out of Nigeria.“Therefore, we are watching INEC and its activities. We will not allow you to play pranks. This is an Ijaw state and so they are going nowhere. This is a PDP controlled state. No hidden agenda will work in Bayelsa.”On the preparedness of the party for the December 5 poll, Chief Fayose told Governor Dickson not to worry about the ranting of APC, adding, “In our place, it is one stone that scatters so many birds. Your (Dickson) stone will scatter their birds. I’ve worked with them before. I know their style and antics. So fear not.

“If you read the book of Joshua chapter one, it says, fear not. So don’t be afraid but be courageous because their armies will bow to your army.“I am conducting this PDP primary in Bayelsa transparently in line with the PDP guidelines. I am not ready to dodge out of this stadium to run away. The truth will stand the test of time and speak for itself.Describing Governor Dickson as a great fighter, he assured him of victory in the next election.According to him, “You have won the battle already. This is not a party where they will do one primary today and cancel it tomorrow. In this our own, there will be no cancellation. This is an authority in Bayelsa.

“Nigeria respects my voice because I am not given to frivolities and propaganda. I am here to conduct an election that will stand the test of time.On President Goodluck Jonathan, he described him as a true son of Africa, adding, “You have done what no African leader could do. You threw in the towel to save Nigeria. You gave us the relative peace we are enjoying. You remain a man after my heart.“I am a governor that has no apology for supporting you. Everybody must remember that it is a virtue to be courageous to defend the truth.“Jonathan is a man to be recognized in the whole world. He conducted an election that worked against his interest but he gave it up. Jesus Christ did exactly the same.”

BAYELSA GUBER: APC PRIMARIES; A SHOW OF SHAME, AS MAYHEM AND BRIGANDAGE REIGNS SUPREME

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State has noted with serious concern, the mayhem, bloodletting and the disruption of the existing peace and security in some parts of the State capital, Yenagoa, as a fall out of the All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship primaries.Reacting to the unfortunate scenarios that played out before, during and after the APC primaries, the PDP in Bayelsa State has described the APC, as a bunch of desperate and power hungry individuals, who do not have anything to offer Bayelsans, but are only craving for power to return the State to its dark days. According to the PDP State Secretary, Keku Godspower, what happened at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, was a manifestation of the true make-up and the real intent of the persons, who are saying they want to lead the State and effect change, without any clear cut vision to effect any positive change, but to plunge Bayelsa back to the dark days of cultism, militancy and lawlessness as well as fritter away the resources of the State. The PDP scribe wondered why a party primary, which is purely an internal matter that ought to be conducted under a peaceful and

BREAKING NEWS: APC PRIMARY: DRAMA AS ALAIBE, SUPPORTERS DENIED ACCESS TO VENUE......AS SLVA'S THUGS, CULTISTS CLASH WITH POLICE

Governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State started on a stormy note this morning with protest by supporters of governorship aspirant, Ndutimi Alaibe, who were denied access to the venue of the event. Alaibe was also not allowed to enter the venue. He was seen at the gate with his supporters, creating a riotous scene. It was a busy day for security personnel at the venue of the primary exercise as Alaibe’s supporters were seen engaging security men in arguments over the propriety of their action. Many of the supporters were milling outside the gate shouting and making attempts to force their way into the venue but were disallowed.Investigation revealed that Alaibe and his supporters were denied access because of the stunning allegation that they were not accredited delegates, a situation which led to hot exchanges and insinuations that the Timipre Sylva’ camp was behind their travails in a bid to manipulate the election. With this development, there were indications that today’s primary will likely to be marred by crisis as the outcome will be dented by complaints of bias and thus those affected particularly the Alaibe group may reject the result.“We will certainly reject the outcome of the primary if the situation does not change here today because this arrangement is skewed in favour of a particular aspirant”, one of the supporters stated. As at the time of filing this report, the growing protest had become a source of worry to the Adams Oshiomhole-led panel charged with the responsibility of conducting the primary as frantic efforts were being made to get the aspirants and disgruntled delegates to calm down. It was also observed that more security men were being deployed to the venue to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order as party thugs were said to have invaded the venue.

BAYELSA POLL: YOU'RE NOT A THREAT TO DICKSON,PDP TELLS JONATHAN'S EX-AIDE-SAYS BAYELSA PDP CHAIRMAN

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as empty, the decision by a former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, to work against the re-election bid of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.Chairman of PDP in Bayelsa State, Chief Serena Dokubo Spiff, said that Dudafa is not an issue in the politics of his local governmen, Kolokuma/Opokuma as well as the politics of Bayelsa State. Dokubo Spiff said "Dudafa cannot determine the victory of the PDP. All the critical stakeholders in Bayelsa State politics are with Governor Henry Seriake Dickson. They have also endorsed the governor for a second term. The Governor does not need Dudafa's endorsement or support to win his re-election, as he has never supported the governor's political ambition."Governor Dickson will campaign and win in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, because the grand masters of Bayelsa State politics are the backbone of Governor Dickson. The governor derives his strength from the people and not like Dudafa, who thrives on propaganda and blackmail."Instead of dissipating his energy, criticising the governor, Dudafa should go in retrospect and purge himself of the evils and atrocities he unleashed on unsuspecting visitors to the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, while he served as domestic aide."
