BAYELSA ASSEMBLY POLLS: GOV DICKSON CONGRATULATES SPEAKER, OTHERS FOR EMERGING VICTORIOUS

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has congratulated the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Kombowei Benson on his victory in the State Assembly polls held over the weekend.


In a statement, Hon. Dickson described the victory of the Speaker as well deserving and a manifestation of his diligent and committed service to his constituency and the State in general.

According to the results signed and released by State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Baritor Kpagih, Rt.Hon. Benson of the PDP polled a total of 28, 849 votes to beat 4 other contestants to the Southern Ijaw constituency IV assembly seat.

Governor Dickson also congratulated Honourables Monday Bubou Obolo and Daniel Baraladei Igali, both of the PDP, who were elected as representatives of Southern Ijaw constituencies II and III.

The Governor, who expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the polls in the State, equally felicitated with Hon. Abraham Ingobere – Brass Contituency III, Ololo Ebi Ben, Ingo Iwowari and Obiene Iniyobio for Nembe constituencies I, II and III as well as Mitema Obordor and Naomi Benjamin Ogoli for Ogbia constituencies I and III, all of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He also congratulated PDP’s Dr. Parkinson Markmanuel, Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku Obiyai, Gentle Emelah and Salo Adikumo, who were returned winners for Yenagoa I, II, III and Sagbama III, in the State Assembly elections and thanked Bayelsans for the massive support given to the PDP candidates.

The Bayelsa State Chief Executive also expressed gratitude to Bayelsans for their turnout and the peaceful manner they conducted themselves and urged them to do same in this weekend’s rescheduled assembly polls in 8 constituencies in Ekeremor, Sagbama and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas.
