SHEHU OF BORNO, OTHERS BAG HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREES FROM BAYELSA VARSITY, GOV DICKSON EXTOLS MONARCH OVER HIS STERLING QUALITIES


Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry seriake Dickson has felicitated with the Shehu of Borno and Chancellor of the State owned Niger Delta University, Alhaji Abubarkar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi over his conferment with a Doctorate degree by the institution at its fourth convocation ceremony. In a statement, Governor Dickson, noted with satisfaction, the long and  impressive academic, moral and political profile of the Borno monarch, which has also positioned him strategically as an inspiration and bridge builder among the various sections of the Country.

While, calling on other highly placed Nigerians to emulate the amiable disposition of Alhaji Garbai El-Kanemi, the Governor described the honour as well deserving and urged him to continue to use his exalted position to unite and foster more enduring cordial relationships between Bayelsa, the Niger Delta and the rest of the country.
 
The Bayelsa State Chief Executive also congratulated the first visitor to the Niger Delta University, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and front line philanthropist and elder statesman, Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs, who were also awarded honorary doctorate degrees at the ceremony, describing them as true patriots, who have always given their all to the service of the people of the Niger Delta and beyond.
